Live #OccupyWallStreet - Day 27!

EMERGENCY CALL TO ACTION: Prevent the forcible closure of Occupy Wall Street!

Tell Bloomberg: Don't Foreclose the Occupation.
Join us at 6AM FRIDAY for non-violent eviction defense.

Please take a minute to read this, and please take action and spread the word far and wide.

Occupy Wall Street is gaining momentum, with occupation actions now happening in cities across the world.

But last night Mayor Bloomberg and the NYPD notified Occupy Wall Street participants about plans to “clean the park”—the site of the Wall Street protests—tomorrow starting at 7am. "Cleaning" was used as a pretext to shut down “Bloombergville” a few months back, and to shut down peaceful occupations elsewhere.

Bloomberg says that the park will be open for public usage following the cleaning, but with a notable caveat: Occupy Wall Street participants must follow the “rules”. These rules include, "no tarps or sleeping bags" and "no lying down."

So, seems likely that this is their attempt to shut down #OWS for good.

PLEASE TAKE ACTION:
1) Call 311 and tell Bloomberg to support our right to assemble and to not interfere with #OWS. If you are calling from outside NY use this number 212-NEW-YORK.
2) Come to #OWS on FRIDAY AT 6AM to defend the occupation from eviction.

Occupy Wall Street is committed to keeping the park clean and safe — we even have a Sanitation Working Group whose purpose this is. We are organizing major cleaning operations today and will do so regularly.

If Bloomberg truly cares about sanitation here he should support the installation of portopans and dumpsters. #OWS allies have been working to secure these things to support our efforts.

We know where the real dirt is: on Wall Street. Billionaire Bloomberg is beholden to bankers.
We won't allow Bloomberg and the NYPD to foreclose our occupation. This is an occupation, not a permitted picnic.

  3. I am not in the US, but I could try and arrange the supply of some simple meals for you protesters. Some people can't occupy because they have jobs, but you can ask those people to supply food and water bottles/tankers. It'll be a shame if some occupiers have to leave, just because they can't afford to buy bottled water and food in the city. I will be watching your twitter feed, and if you want myself and others to help sustain you with regard to food and water, just post something on twitter and I'll try and help.

  5. They've already publicised the no camping rule in my city where an Occupy protest is starting tomorrow. No one's sure yet whether they're going to defy it or not.

  6. Unreal that opression is hanging its hat on "no camping"!!! WTF?? Is "no camping" really a reason for confrontation? Who is this order truly serving?? Certainly not a handful of citizens or businesses that OWC is inconveniencing.

  12. I've been saying this was going to happen. The Gov is afraid of us. We have every right to peacefully protest and to freedom of speech!

The time is coming for revolution! This time if the Gov attacks the people will start preparing to fight back. I DO NOT WANT TO SEE THIS but I am afraid it is going to happen.

    Be prepared Anons...

  13. Remember that every confrontation to date has played badly for the 'authorities' and shined good light on 'our ppl' there in NYC.

Sign every petition you can find ! Call NYC Complaints # @ 212.639.9675

I have a feeling that alot of media will be there. This is blatantly asking for confrontation, they have made the first move yet again. Olberman said the timing was stoopid on the mayor's part, as Fri morning at 7 am. in NYC is already insane w/ traffic, short tempers.

Try with all your might to stand in solidarity, remain Peaceful at all costs.

I read somewhere in the countless article I have read in the last few wks on OWS, that Bloomberg's girlfriend is on the same Read Estate Board that 'owns' the park. I can not find that article again.
I remember when reading it, that it would be Bloombergs' 'ace in the hole' for this so called 'problem'.. Get the Real Estate PPL to be the 'bad guys' and pass blame onto them so Bloomberg looks 'clean' .. just following the needs of the Park owner scenerio.

I can not prove this, as I did not save the article, hence it has to remain 'hear say'. I am sorry I did not save it.

I am nearly 65 and disabled, I can not be with you in the flesh, but know that I am with you in spirit.
I send you all the good Karma I have at my disposal.

Going while reading through that, that it could be Bloombergs' 'ace in the hole' just for this so named 'problem'.. Receive the Real estate property PPL to become the 'bad guys' and also cross blame onto them so Bloomberg looks 'clean' .. only following a requires with the Recreation area seller scenerio.
