comparing "ocupy wall street" wiht Lybia is completly wrong. Kaddafi fight against wallstreet bankers as people in usa. So wtf are anonymous trying to do with this ? anonymous are atacking organisations with same goals! you act like "false God". At Anonymous about Libya. You have missed the point. The reason those clips were made is to show the hyprocracy of the govt. people saying that those people should be able to protest, while not allowing people in the US to protest without the police bullying and beating them and pepper spraying them for simply protesting.
It is to show the hypicracy of the president and sec. of state and that they lie about Libya, and they lie about US freedoms.
I am sorry you misunderstood the true message this video tried to show.
I think everyone should remember that this is a war on the FED & a broken monetary system. This is NOT a war on cops. In fact, cops fall into the 99%, however they have a job to uphold. & considering this movement, I think people should respect that. & breaking the law is breaking the law.
In no way do I agree that people should be maced for no reason, or attacked, or beaten, or dragged away by their throats. I am for this movement, I participate in this movement in my city. BUT - You can't change the world behind bars.
Police and military are tools of the government. The people themselves have jobs to do and we shouldn't stop them from doing it. Don't get mad because they still try to provide for their families by doing the job, get angry with the people giving them orders. They have opions too against the bullshit they can't just quit doing the job or lose it over speaking out.
There's a lot of confusion about this movement. You can't even agree amongst yourselves. There is time for revolution, but there needs to be time for galvanization first. How long did it take the colonies to gain independence from Great Britain? Anybody out there know? It didn't happen overnight, folks. The seeds were planted in 1765 with the Colonist's protest of The Stamp Act, which they claimed was, "Taxation Without Representation". The result was not only The Revolutionary War, but a true world war, with many countries involved. A true resolution wasn't reached until 1778. That adds up to....you do the math....that's right, 13 years of upheaval, protest, galvanization, war, death, political demonization and idealization and on and on for 13 YEARS! Now, with the advent of the Internet, the time period on these protests might be sped up, but you 99%ers have some work to do. By the way, about 140,000 people (soldiers from both sides) were killed in the process. Better be sure youre in if you scream, "Revolution!"
Great vid! Please people, find out your own geometry with the flower of life and find out this isn't a coincedence that this movement is succeeding. Holland.
The only reason, why this video was stuck together in my opinion ist .. to show that us president and us secretary of state are trying to "help" people in the middle east, rather than looking on their own people and problems. They simply ignore the occupy wallstreet community .... and guess how long? ... until they have to give up, because its winter! ... How dare you hijack footage from the oppression of Lybia to make your point. The protestors on Wall Street goaded and antagonized their ways into being arrested. They were being disruptive, disturbing the peace, trespassing, being public nuisances, and ignoring the orders the police officers gave them. Over the fact that our job market is depressed right now? Have some perspective people. There's an ebb and flow to economic recovery. How dare you for a moment compare middle east oppression to a bunch of short sighted unemployed trouble making Americans. Unless you've been half way across the other side of the world and seen what I've seen....how dare you!
Wow, I guess you miss the point of the video!! It was intended as a wake-up call for goodness sakes!! Don't take it so personally. I watched it and started crying because of what Lybia had to do to protect their rights! I simply put it out of my mind, and went on with my life. Shame on me! I don't want this to happen to the US, but it's happening!!! Wake-up people, it's time for a change!
Lybia is a far cry from us. Their system of government can't be compared to ours. Yes, I will take it personally. How dare you and yours be so cavalear!
"short sighted unemployed trouble making Americans?"
Clearly, you don't know who these demonstrators are!
I am an EMPLOYED and dedicated father and husband. Trying to provide for my family has proved to be nearly impossible, in spite of the fact that I make nearly $70,000 per year and am quite frugal in my habits. This fact is due to the government sponsored oppression that I feel every day.
If you think that the demonstrators' message is somehow not valid, you are blind and asleep. Perhaps you are blinded by a hopeless ambition to one day join the 1%. Whatever the case, you are entirely unable to imagine what it is like to feel entirely at the mercy of an uncaring, unfeeling, and inhumane monetary system that is slowly beating you into submission. And this, in spite of the fact that you, like EVERYBODY else, are immersed in this system every moment of every day.
See 16:48, that's sad. Someone, or something has convinced you that 70,000 isnt enough to get by on. Someone/something has brainwashed you into believing that you need stuff to be a real husband and father. And it's not the wealthiest 1%. Someone or something has gotten you to believe that living in the freest country in the world, with all the blessings we partake of, is a curse. GIVE ME A BREAK! Look around you. You're making it. In any other country a man in your position would realize how blessed he is. But no, not you. After listening to liberal rhetoric and propaganda for how ever many years on end, they finally won you over. They finally got you to believe that living in the freest, most blessed country on earth is a curse. Along with making you believe there is no God, killing babies is for the good of society, taxing businesses out of operation is in society's best interest, you can save the planet by bagging your groceries in cloth bags, the united states shouldn't have a strong military to ward off international neredowells, our borders should be open to all people from any country, drugs should be legalized and on and on. You too have become quite a useful idiot. And you don't even care to know it. You epitomize what it means to be blind and inept. You hate it here so much? Move then! Stop whining. Stop with the "I make 70 grand a year but since I'm not king if the universe my life sucks" crap. You, idiot, are part of the wealthiest 1% compared to how the rest if the world's population lives. You people are such ingrates! Get a clue and stop already.
Really 16:48? Providing for your family is nearly impossible on $70,000 a year? You mean you have no food, clothing or shelter? You're out on the street? You have no healthcare? Your children have no education? Surely that's what you're implying when you say providing for your family is nearly impossible. I think that perhaps a father in Ethipia who has had to choose between his five children, which he will save and which he will have to let starve to death, might have a bit of a different view on your predicament. I think the man who has had to illegally cross the border between Mexico and the U.S., risking life and limb to come here and work illegally so he can send money back to his family who live in a tin shanty by the side of a polluted river, might have a different view of your perspective. I think a father in the Pillipinnes who has had to sell one of his daugher's into slavery (most likely sexual slavery) in order to provide for the rest of his children, might have a bit of a different view of your perspective. I think a father in Haiti who has had to burry two of the three of his children after they have died from infection due to a lack of medical care, might have a different view of your perspective. So, you can't buy your kid the latest technology, or send your kid to a 4-year university without going into student loan debt, or take your family on an expensive vacation, or you might have to shop at a second-hand store for clothing, or turn the thermostat down rather than up when it gets cold, or eat at home for dinner instead of going out to eat, and you're telling me you can barely provide for your family?
16:48 here. Since my comment has been called into question, I'll provide a little more context. We are a single income household. We are a happy family with 7 children. (Some baby killer, huh?) I know that we are incredibly blessed, and that $70K is nothing to cry over. We have bought clothes at Goodwill-type stores and discount stores for many years. We look for bargains everywhere we go. We have truly tried to live within our means. Our 3 cars are paid off. I have a Masters Degree and over 15 years of experience in my field. And I’m very good at what I do. We donate over 10% of our income to our church for worthy causes. A few years ago, I was unemployed for a period of nearly 3 YEARS. There was a period of over half a year where our entire family was HOMELESS, living in a campground - while "gainfully" employed - but still unable to make ends meet. I am a white male, trying to survive in the "middle class."
I know what it is to have no idea where the next meal is coming from.
I know what it is to pull one's home out of foreclosure no less than 6 times.
I know what it is to feel adversely judged by everyone around us.
I know what it is to rely upon government and religious institutions for our very survival.
I know the humiliation of choosing food stamps over starvation, while feeling shamed by the person behind me in the supermarket every time I pulled out the EBT card.
I know what it is like to have caring communities provide a holiday season for my children – year, after year, after year.
I know what it feels like to have those who surround you look down on you in pity.
I have personally seen policy take precedence over humanity.
I know what it feels like to cling with a strong grip to faith and hope for my very survival - that if I were to abandon those, all would be lost.
I know that IN SPITE OF THE FACT that I have diligently tried to be a good, moral, generous, kind, and worthy person - I have come face to face, on several occasions, with a very real attitude expressed by people and policies that I am not good enough, not worthy enough - which thing also means that my innocent children must, according to them, be unworthy.
I also recognize that my difficulties, which are significant, actually pale immensely when put next to the suffering that millions of people worldwide deal with, and that I comparatively have nothing to complain of.
I also recognize, that IN SPITE of the forces that have hurled extremely challenging times upon my family, I still have hope that one day I might be able to turn it around and truly provide for my family. A great many people worldwide can't have that hope. So yes, I am actually very, very, very blessed.
But I have approached the other side closely enough to have some idea of what's going on.
So as I read the hate filled, baseless, and uninformed comments that came in response to my earlier comment, all I can do is laugh to myself.
If you find what I wrote to be offensive, you simply don't get it. You will never understand what these demonstrators are trying to communicate to the world without fundamentally changing your thinking into something that is much more humanity-oriented. You cannot understand it until you have lived it.
I have lived it to a degree. And I fully support these demonstrators.
You, however, appear to be a troublemaker, seeking out opportunities to sow discontent. But no amount of insults, or accusations, or assumptions, or hate filled statements can alter the truth. My story is true, and these demonstrators have a point.
I am no trouble maker. I too was homeless, for 3 years in fact. I had to live off the generosity of others while I finished my education having had two children, within the bonds if marriage and their father decided to leave us. It was never my plan to be homeless either. It sucked. Every minute of it. I hated feeling less than and, as you said, unworthy. But the bottom line was and is, I made it. People, kind people helped me. I never stood anywhere demanding that I was entitled to another person's wealth because of my situation. You Occupyers seem to think that just because someone has been successful we can never understand what it means to struggle. I understand. I am highly successful now and wouldn't be the person I am today had I NOT struggled. Ever watch an egg hatch? What happens if you help the little baby bird out of the shell? That's right. It will die from lack of strength. And for all the offense you all seem to take to some legitimate push back, I could care less what you think of me. Who knows how many comments will come regarding why I'm single, or why my children's father left us. I know my arguments are sound and rational, while your side can only sling insults, accusations and personal attacks with no articulation as to why deserve someone else's wealth you haven't earned. You sound like a Christian man. If that is the case you should revisit your scriptures regarding why it's contrary to God's laws to covet. Each of us must face our trials. I'm sorry for yours. But just imagine, if you can teach your children how to face adversity with honor rather than insisting it's their right to take what isn't theirs, how much better they will be for that. I know suffering. I know what it's like to live on the edge of survival. I also know the feeling of triumphing over that. There's no replacement for personal triumph over adversity. No amount of taking from someone can fill you with the knowledge that however your problem was solved, you did it honorably.
Incredible, I assume you skip the stage that the video!! It was meant as a wake-up require goodness stakes!! Do not take it thus professionally. My partner and i watched that along with started out crying as a result of just what Lybia needed to caused by protect their own privileges! I simply put it from my head, as well as proceeded using playing. Pity upon me personally! I don't want this that occurs towards the All of us, however it is going on!!! Wake-up men and women, it is time for something new!

ReplyDelete16:48 here.
ReplyDeleteSince my comment has been called into question, I'll provide a little more context.
We are a single income household.
We are a happy family with 7 children. (Some baby killer, huh?)
I know that we are incredibly blessed, and that $70K is nothing to cry over.

I know what it feels like to have those who surround you look down on you in pity.
